Happy Birthday Mom!

Happy Birthday Mom! She would've been 73 on the 26th. I still miss talking to her every day. Seems like yesterday she was sitting in her chair reading her Bible or watching TV. I'm sure she, my daughter, my brother, & my grandparents are all celebrating with her today. She's eating all the catfish she wants and Hannah & Dewayne are singing "Happy Birthday" to her.
Then they would probably all start singing "I'll Fly Away".

Miss You Mom...

Super Mom

Mom, you're a wonderful mother,
So gentle, yet so strong.
The many ways you show you care
Always make me feel I belong.

You're patient when I'm foolish;
You give guidance when I ask;
It seems you can do most anything;
You're the master of every task.

You're a dependable source of comfort;
You're my cushion when I fall.
You help in times of trouble;
You support me whenever I call.

I love you more than you know;
You have my total respect.
If I had my choice of mothers,
You'd be the one I'd select!

Watched a great movie this weekend. "The King's Speech". Very compelling story about King George VI. This was current Queen Elizabeth's father.

I still weep...

Psalm 30:2 O LORD my God, I cried unto thee, and thou hast healed me.
3 O LORD, thou hast brought up my soul from the grave: thou hast kept me alive, that I should not go down to the pit.
4 Sing unto the LORD, O ye saints of his, and give thanks at the remembrance of his holiness.
5 For his anger endureth but a moment; in his favour is life:
weeping may endure for a night, but joy cometh in the morning.

The Lord has been good to us and I'm thankful for all He has done for us this past year. But frequently I find myself missing my loved ones that have gone on before me. My brother, grand parents, my mother, and my daughter Hannah. When I feel a quiet moment coming on, I sit and think of them, the fond memories, and how much I still miss them. I weep. The hope I hold onto is that one morning I will awaken to a joy like we've never known on this earth. That will be the day I enter heaven and see them again. And like them meet my Savior who died for me and made that family reunion possible.

Out of the Shadow...

I Peter 2:9 But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should show forth the praises of Him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light:

...Out of the Shadow...
v.1 Out of the shadow, into the Light. Everything's gonna be all right.
Out of the shadow, into His love, salvation from above.
I was blind, but now I see.
Drowning in sorrow, He rescued me.
Out of the shadow into the Light of God's love.

v.2 Out of the shadow, I found my way. Now I can see the light of day.
Out of the trouble, of this ol world, into the arms of a loving God.
I was lost but now I'm found. Healed my body, my mind is sound.
Out of the shadow into the Light of God's love.

II Timothy 1:7 For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.
Isaiah 53:5 But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed.
